We’re delighted to announce the release of the ROCTEL Network & Security Report 2026 — a data-driven look at how real-world business networks in Ireland are performing, and what that tells us about resilience, cybersecurity, and readiness for the year ahead.

In a time of increasing cyber risk, regulatory change, and rapid adoption of AI-driven technologies, organisations need more than predictions and promises. They need evidence. This report was created to provide exactly that.

Our report is built on real-world data

The report is based on aggregated and anonymised telemetry collected throughout 2025 from a sample of 50 ROCTEL-managed business locations across Ireland. These environments span urban and rural settings and support organisations operating in sectors including financial services, retail, aviation, technology services, and pharmaceuticals.

All locations analysed are delivered using ROCTEL’s ROCSOLID Connectivity and Cyber Defence services that are powered using Cisco technology, and are monitored 24×7 by our Network Management Centre (NMC) and Security Operations Centre (SOC). The analysis covers network uptime and latency, application behaviour, and security events — giving a practical view of day-to-day operations in live environments.

What the data reveals

Looking across the environments analysed, the data points to a level of network stability and reliability that many organisations still struggle to achieve consistently. Performance remained steady across varied locations and use cases, enabling day-to-day reliance on cloud platforms, voice services, and collaboration tools.

From a security standpoint, the findings are equally telling. Rather than highlighting widespread malicious activity, the data reveals a more nuanced reality: today’s cyber risk is less about obvious threats and more about how everyday, legitimate applications and user behaviour shape exposure. It’s a shift that reflects how the threat landscape is evolving — and why visibility and governance matter more than ever.

Why we published this report

This report is not a marketing exercise. It’s a benchmark.

By examining real-world telemetry across ROCTEL-managed environments, we’re able to assess cyber hygiene, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and validate that the Cisco-powered technologies underpinning our managed services are performing as expected in live conditions.

It also helps us ensure we remain aligned with evolving requirements around operational resilience, governance, and compliance, including emerging frameworks such as NIS2 and DORA.

Looking ahead to 2026

As organisations prepare for greater automation, AI-driven workloads, and increased regulatory scrutiny, the role of the network becomes even more critical. Stable connectivity, predictable latency, and security architectures that maintain visibility across encrypted traffic form the foundation of AI-ready and compliance-ready operations.

The ROCTEL Network & Security Report 2026 provides a practical reference point for organisations looking to understand what “good” looks like — not in theory, but in practice.
