Nearly each part of our day to day lives, link back somehow to forests without us even realising it or making that connection.

Our tree planting programme has been running for three years, and we are very pleased to have committed to planting 10,000 indigenous Irish trees. This runs alongside our sustainability ESG policy.

On Saturday, a troop of ROCTEL staff and friends, enjoyed planting hundreds of hawthorn trees, while being fortunate enough to enjoy a spectacular Wicklow vista, complete with blue skies.

The oldest hawthorn trees on record, reached seven hundred years old and can be over fifteen metres tall! We have also planted elm, ash and oak trees. The oak tree can offset fifty pounds of carbon, for every year of its life. All the ROCTEL forests, planted with indigenous Irish trees in Wicklow and other counties, are planted in perpetuity.

If you would like to join us for our next planting day, we would love to hear from you. Just drop us an email sales@roctel.net and have your wellies at the ready.
